I find that as time goes on people look less and less at me funny because of my tattoos. Now when I started getting tattoos back in early 90's it was different-I had someone once tell me that I looked like I was going to join the Circus as the tattooed lady..Nice huh?
Hold your head up high, your beautiful the way you are!

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? People are so stereotypical its not even funny. Like the only people that are supposed to have tattoos are prisoners or lowlifes. Well reality check-tattoos are the norm and I don't give a damn what anyone says. As long as you spend your money on your kids first instead of ink, then screw them. I know my kid comes first, bills second and ink last.

I personally could care less what the hell ppl think of me lol. I am the mother ( proud) of 6 daughters (yup...all girls lol) and I get a kick out of the looks on their teachers faces when I have to go to school and I have on shorts and a tank top. I swear to god, u would think I had 3 heads, 5 tits and a pecker on my forehead lol.

I do not really care what people think. I mean, I get looks all the time, but the best is when I turn the other way, they see the portrait of my daughter and then say, "Wow! That is the most amazing tattoo I've ever seen! It is absolutely beautiful! I don't like tattoos, but that one is really nice." I just tell them, "I know," and go along my business. Some people still are and always will be close-minded about things they do not like or understand. My ex-husband hates tattoos and as time goes by and I get more (14 + currently), somehow I become less and less of a good mother and become part of the "scum of the earth". However, every time I get a new tattoo my daughter has to show everyone possible when I pick her up from school. I am hoping my daughter will continue to keep an open mind about individuals and get to know them as people before making assumptions about their character based on their outer appearance. Thank God she has me! :o)

I do and I dont. If I really did care, I wouldnt get them. Period. But it does annoy me, and hurt me sometimes when people judge me because of them. I know my family wont even ackowledge them. People in stores ignore me or stare, and I dont even have big ones yet. Just a highly visible one on my forearm. I lost job opportunites because of it, and its stupid, really, they were bartending positions. I dont really care though. My son loves my tattoos, he has a special pencil he uses to pretend like hes drawing them on me. Whats most important, is that I love my tattoos, and thats all I really care about anyway.

Now that he is 15, he has forbid me to go to his high school because of all the comments he gets when I leave...LOL It does make me feel good to know that people think I am his sister...it's funny.

Thought I'd share this for a laugh...

Just got back from an AWESOME week in Vegas - park of it with my friends and part for work. Anyway, on the flight out I shared my section with some very roudy and flirty guys heading for a bachelor party. One of the guys told me I was a real cougar! Me being the ignorant, been with the same man for so long, person that I am had no idea what the hell he was talking about?! When my friend's plane finally landed I asked her what that meant & she basically said it was a hot older lady! Nice, I just celebrated my 35th!! I guess it was a compliment, but it sure cracks me up that I am now viewed as an "older" lady...

Had to get a new piercing while I was in Vegas just to prove to myself that I've still got it! ; P

I personally dont care what people think.. My son is due any day but I grew up to be who I am, if people dont like it it is too bad for them. I have to look at myself in the mirror in the morning. People are too judgemental and you really cant let it get to you. I have friends who are fully sleeved, friends who have one little tattoo on their ankle or shoulder, and friends who are quickly running out of room. I also have friends whose skin is screaming for ink :)
the older generations seem to think tattoos were just for jail birds and sailors. Let them think that. You know yourself better than anyone,y ou take care fo your kids and family, and if you want to put your personality into ink on your flesh that is your choice.
If someone doesnt like it, that is theirs. You got the ink for yourself (at least i hope), so dont let anyone take that from you... Ok thats enough rambling :)

I love the way people look at me. I look like such a nice girl people say but when I show them they really ask if thy are all real. I love how my mom forbids it, hate to tell her but I had a kid, live on my own and pay all my bills, I'll get them damn things if I want too.I love the way they make me feel, how I stand out from everyone else. My daughter now walks around saying she has tattoos, mind you shes only 2 but knows what they are from me and her father.

Hello everyone, I am happy to join this club. I am the proud mother of two boys, 7 and 9. They go to a catholic school due to the lack of room in the public school here. It is a very small rural community and well lets just say that we stand out like sore thumbs! Every time I have to go to the school, the staff flinch and shy away as though I have a disease. It is crazy how the close-minded ones are so foolish and just plain stupid!!!

I wish I had bigger more obvious work, I love it when the moms at my kids school talk to me and say that they had no idea that a tattooed woman could be so nice, like they thought I was gonna shank them or something. I love tattoos and if they don't like them then they can go back home and stare at their stretch marks while I get too see beautiful color.

: ) one of my favorite questions. Yes, I care what people think! I don't want them to think that just because I am a Mom, a faithful wife, drive the Denali, have a mega responsible job, and make OVER 95K per year that I am some normal run-of-the mill 30 something!! I LOVE wearing things at work that show just a bit of a tat and then when someone mentions "oh, you have a tattoo" I reply, no, I have 8!!! I just started wearing my nose ring again, just to shake up the conservitive stiffs I work with - I haven't worn it regularly for at least 15 years. I love listening to Kid Rock, Metallica, and Green Day at work - it keeps things interesting. I actually think it's kind of funny when people treat me like I'm white trash... If they only knew!!!

Hey all,

I'm Chris, single momma (twice - the dorks I pick to marry, sheesh) to two sons, ages 4 & 14.

I work FT, take care of my boys, write erotica when the mood strikes & have one tattoo so far... looking to get a bass clef on my left inner wrist and have two others in mind as well.

My older son is already asking when he can get his first tattoo... *lol* He wants his eyebrow pierced so badly, but his dad is set against it (we try to work together as much as possible, so until his dad relents, I can't let him get it done). He has one piercing (his ear) and it's gauged to ten right now. Kid is gorgeous, even if he does drive me up a wall with his lackadaisial attitude towards school (necessary evil).

My younger son is cute as hell, curious as can be, stubb...err... PERSISTANT as a mule and incredibly intelligent (he's been teaching himself how to read for the past 6 months or so...). They drive each other crazy - how they find something to fight about with ten years in between, I don't understand, but they do.

I care what others think, to a certain degree. My kids love my tattoo's and brag about them all the time. The tat's I have for my girls, they each got to pick the colour of the dresses on the tat, so they never fail to mention that to anyone.
I will cover them from time to time, all depending on where I'm going/what I'm doing. But right now I only have 4, both ankles, calf and bicep, so it's easily covered. I'll cover for say job interviews. Ummm, haven't really run into many places I felt the need to cover.
I'm used to the looks, don't like em, but I really don't care. As far as I'm concerned, judging someone because they are inked, is pretty damn close to judging someone based on sex, race, etc.
I find alot more people ( at least in my area) are becoming open with tattoo's or piercings, very liberal about it. Which is good. Let's just hope it spreads :)

I love my tats and highly doubt I'll stop anytime soon. I have 4 right now, my first being a baby bottle with Kendra's name in it when I had her. The last being an Amy Brown faery on my calf. I'll be getting more faeries soon :)
I have my ears, tongue and a south piercing ;) But that's it for piercing, definately not addicted to that.

I honestly find how people react to being a tattooed woman entertaining...the shock value is worth some alone. However I think that people can be cruel....there for I feel that I sould cover appropriately according to who I am protecting and where....i.e. at church with my b/f grandma...my kids school events(sporting events are off cause ya gotta wear shorts)...and things of such If my kids aren't with me and I'm not at church...I'll be sportin everyone I can and even removing close to show them off if I have to.....I guess what I wanna know is if I'm being dumb or anyone else feeling the same way?
