Hello to all of you tattooed moms and dads.
I'm a child photographer trying to specialize in parents with ink and their newborn babies. I did shots of a friend of the family who is a tattoo artist with her three week old son and I fell in love with this idea.
I just wanted to ask you who would be closest to my target market if you would have any ideas or suggestions, or if this would be something you are interested in or would be interested in having done.

Hi, new to Inked Nation and the group. I have a 9 yr old daughter and 1 yr old son. LOVE them! I only have 2 tattoos right now, but I am addicted and want a lot more. Next up will be a dinosaur to represent my son who had a brain tumor removed when he was 6 mos old. He's a fighter and he's completely back to normal minus some peripheral vison on one side! I'm just looking for some people to talk to and make friends with, so stop by and say hi. |

Hello, my name is Sarah, I am 23 and I have a daughter who is 19 months. Her name is Harlee Marie. She's awesome, she keeps me laughing all day long! I love being a mom and can't wait to have one or two more babies. I am thinking about getting her newborn footprints tattooed on me somewhere. Right now I only have one tattoo but I want lots more. haha My daughter isn't in school yet but when I pick her up from daycare I pretty much get the same reaction from the workers and the kids there! It's great!
To the other chica who posted here - I feel ya, my fiance has 0 tats and 0 piercings and no desire for either! He's terrific about me having mine, though. Hell, I had them when we met and they aren't going away! |

hi, i'm steve, 30 years old. i have two kids, 6 year old and 4 year old. i have one half sleve and half of my back done, but not completed yet. my wife has ink as well. both of my kids love our tats, and every weekend the "get" their own tattoos (fake ones of course). last one that i gave my son was on his neck. you should have heard the phone calls we got from school. it was prety funny, but my wife was kinda irritated. |

we just had my son's 6th birhtday party at our house. my wife had a few of her friends come to help her, so it's easier to entertain 23 6 year olds. they had pin a tail on a donkey, hot potato, musical chairs, and a piniata. then they had some cake. the whole thing lasted about 2-2.5 hours and it went well. we thought 2 hours wouldn't be enough time, but it was perfect. all the kids started to loose interest by that time. |

I know exactly what you mean! My wife and I get flack as well, and from our friends! Our kids (7, 6, and 3 years old) love the tattoos. i have a quarter sleeve devoted to their nicknames (including Mom's nickname), and my other bicep has the kids' actual names. They love it! People need to get over it! I just found this Mom's and Dad's forum, which is great - good to know there are others like my wife and I out there! |

I think it all depends on the industry you're in. I'm in the brokerage processing industry, and that's pretty conservative. I'm always wary about covering up - sometimes i let them peek out (quarter sleeve), but only in front of certain people. |

I know what you mean, except when I look around at all the toys, a.k.a. crap, that's lying around the house. The kids need another toy like a hole in the head. Whenever I step on a lego in the dark (not the small legos, the nice, sharp big ones), I feel a little bit better about spending a few hundred on some ink that'll still love me when they're teenagers and probably will hate me (just joking!). |

I just have one tattoo for now (lotus on my upper arm), but my birthday's coming up so I'm going to treat myself to another! I teach so whatever I get needs to be able to be covered up during the day.

hey. just wanted to say hi. i'm a tattooed mom and cannot believe the attitude i get from people. at least my family is cool with it. my mom just got her first tattoo at age(lets just say over 45) and let me be there. she's already talking about getting another one. my kids (4 & 2) think my tattoos are "neat" (my son) and "pretty" (my daughter). my husband and i get a lot of flack from his family for being inked. that's just a little bout us! |
