I don't think I could have found a more fitting group :)

A little about myself:
1. I'm covered in tattoos.
2. I have been on the front end of new technologies for laser tattoo removal for the past two years.
3. I know exactly what its like to have a tattoo, remove a tattoo and all of the in between stages.

Thats why I have developed a special makeup that is designed to cover tattoos.

For more info check out my inked page!

no I don't, and I wouldn't. Not for ethical reasons, just personal preferance. I thought I would share a quick story though.
The local Army recruiting office actually brought in a soldier-to-be and paid for his elbow web to be covered-up. They said that certain parts of the country identify it with mexican gangs, and could result in jeapordizing his well-being. So I turned it into some swirly fire instead. sorry I don't have pics, but it's true that your tax dollars helped pay for his tattoo :)

i do not work in the tattoo industry, but i'd say i've got a few tattoos that i just can't cover up.

i have all of my knuckles, obviously minus the thumbs, one small tatoo on my left hand (more to come) and a small tattoo on my face about 1x1 inch in size on my left cheekbone.

funny thing is, i'm only 19 years old and i've recently been hired at a local dunkin donuts mostly working front counter.

nobody's said a thing.

I'm an apprentice at a tattoo shop and I've been working there for about a year now. So tattoos obviously are not an issue. All of my tattoo except for the ones on my wrists are easily coverable. Family doesn't know about my tattoos. I have to wear longer shirts so when i bend down my back doesn't show. and I need to wear pants so my legs don't show. But it's not any issue for me.

I'm in the tattoo business, and hopefully for life. I'm knuckled up and have a lower 1/2 sleeve, also have tattoos on my neck and chin. I run a shop in a small town here and have had things go both ways with trying to find side work, as far as getting turned down due to my ink.

i currently work in an office (finance dept at that!) and i have my knuckles, entire back of my neck and full left sleeve. so far, i've had to only accomodate my workplace by wearing long sleeves year round. no one seems to mind too much, but i'm hoping to do my hands and sides of my neck in the near future, so we will see how that goes...
fortunately, there is presently nothing in the dress code about tattoos. maybe i will get a subsection written just for me! ha.

I work as a teaching assistant in an infant school, been there 17 years this september and got more tattooed and pierced since I started. I wear most of my piercings but cover all but 1 of my tattoos. I wear long sleeves every day which is a killer in the hot weather and just try to be discrete about the one on my hand, try to keep it out of sight when certain members of staff are around, don't think the head has ever seen it which is good as she's so straight!
Had a few negative reactions from the parents over the years but I don't give a shit, im good at my job and the kids love me, that's all that matters.

I dont. I am a photographer. my tattoos and pircings keep me from doing wedding and kids (which is great cause I hate to do them), but it doesnt hurt any of my stock or corp work.

Here in southern california... all the bartenders at my work are tattooed, and recently, this girl from the tattoo shop got a job bartending over someone much more qualified (and oddly enough at a bar i never would have though this of) because they wanted her to show her tats behind the bar... i guess she asked in the interview if they would be a problem, and the manager said no, and feel free to wear tanktops that show them off!

I'm a bartender so I don't get a whole lot of shit, but there are those that don't like tats and bitch... but those are also the kind of people that don't like "curse words" or drunk people... and they're just in the wrong place to begin with.
And actually, more and more bars nowadays are hiring people with tattoos over people with more experience... it's becoming more accepted in society. And I'm sorry, but who can resist hot chicks covered in tats???

When I wear the tattoos visibly, I do it on purpose, hoping for some reactions. The type of reaction I'll usually get is that people might blush, but otherwise pretend that they didn't see it. I don't really get negative reactions very often. I guess it is simply because I talk and behave friendly to people.

In some places abroad (I had such an experience especially in Vietnam) people would come to me an ask about it. They are very open minded, anything is interesting to them. I like that. Over here people tend to see, and avoid the subject. Even at tattoo conventions, I find people tend to be shyish, people may look, but don't easily cross the boundary of talking as easily as I had expected or hoped. It's like they let the tattoos do the talking.

However, I had a few experiences in which people reacted rather shocked though, and I can understand this quite well. I dont blame them. I'm the one who choses to be different. For them it is something they don't know how to deal with, and become very uncertain about it. People get shocked basically because they feel weak and uncertain about themselves...

I have my tattoos mainly for myself, although I sometimes like to get some eyes or to talk about it. However, it is not my intention to shock people. Therefore I usually tend to hide them when I'm not in the mood for getting reactions.

No I don't. I'm a manager in an overnight & international dept of a large courier company in London. I have my hands and neck done, dont regret it, never try to hide it and it has never stopped me from doing what I want to do in life. My basic philosophy is this 'if people don't like it then Fuck 'em'. however I mostly find that people are curiose and just want to ask the million dollar question.............did they hurt, to which I generally reply with an incredulous look 'of course they fucking did' It generally breaks the ice and people are cool afterwards.

No I don't. I have both my hands tattood with erotic pictures and texts. I also have a PhD in physical chemistry and I'm heading a team of scientists working on food science. Because i interact a lot with the rather conservative food industry I use dermablend to conceal the tattoos. Although this is with limited succes, on sweaty days the tattoos come through, people take it for granted that I do my best to conceal them.
