I changed a few things on this. I got rid of the moon. Added some hairy fur to the hooves. Changed the ledge and background. Added a little black to the face. Reshaped it a liitle for less wrap around. She tapped out before I could finish all the whites. Especailly in the tail. Let me know what you guys think. Mark |

for a portrait like this 1st you need darken you image in photoshop, then you would be able to see your lighter shapes. next make a copy of if then make the stencil off your copy. i really think you should work on your b&g a little more. |

I like it, looks almost like a pencil drawing. I was wondering if once healed we would see more detail around the muzzle. An effect of depth or having the nose area more detailed so it would pop out or seem closer towards us. A play of browns for movement in the muscle area of the muzzle and play of light in the nose area maybe? I don't know if I explain it well... |

This looks really good. It looks like you left out some of the really fine details. That's one area where I haven't learned to draw the line yet. I usually over detail realism. |

I tend to agree with monsterink, I would add that proportion in eyes are critical, especially in realism. They seem less distant in the tat than in the picture, unless it's just an illusion because of the darker area. In the second session I would smoothen the cheek areas with a cutback back style shader with a medium to light wash... |

It seems like there's more skin showing in the tattoo than in your original. Also the white highlights added to the tattoo on top of the cheeks throws it off a little for me. I still really like the overall tattoo quite a bit. Hope this helps. Mark |

Mike, welcome to the group. Great work in your portfolio. I'm a huge fan of that style but for some reason don't get to do much of it. I like your tradish style portraits too.
As far as this piece you posted.... Do you have a reference? It's hard to give advice without seeing what it's supposed to look like. Looks cool though. |

i would put some of the shirt and collar in so it doesnt look like a floating head... watch ur darker areas like the eyes and around the nose...too dark makes them look too sunken...i prefer to go lighter all over then darken slightly in a second session, if possible...overall not bad... |

Looks real nice man... This is only because of the reference, but I'd like to see some brighter oranges/yellows in the face. I see you bloodlined the right fin, How long will that hold up to be able to show well enough for the next session ?.. how much time do you have before it goes away, if it will at all ? |
