no activity since August '08? I sincerely hope you all haven't gone back out...
Hi, my name is Jef and I am an addict.
Current counts: 712 days no booze 364 days no fast food 353 days no cigarettes 49 days no drugs(street, Rx, or OTC), no cloves, and no caffeine
I got my first ever totally sober tattoo last Sunday. What a totally different feeling. I used to live and lived to use. Now I see clearly and don't dread each new day, I appreciate it.
Stay strong, stay safe, and don't pick up!

Howdy all!!! I just found this group and am happy to see that it exists. I've been out of rehab 6 months (30 days in rehab) and tomorrow is my 7 month birthday. Dallas has a wonderful AA community that is absolutely HUGE!!! In the 6 months I've been out I've treated myself to 6 new tattoos. The price of ink is nominal when compared to my old habit!!! Ain't it funny how that works?
Well...I just wanted to introduce myself...PEACE!!! |

I am planning on going to the tattoo convention in detroit in March.
Planning on going to some local NA meetings but was wondering if anyone ever heard of any meetings being organized at the actual convention?
I guess it would kind of be like what I have heard happened at dead and phish shows.
Let me know if you are planning on going to the convention - I am a bit nervous as I am not sure what to expect, having never before been to a convention,
Thanks, Jon F. |

Hi, All Blane here .. We just had our annual AA Round Up Convention here in Biloxi , Mississippi , at the Imperial Palace Hotel Casino . It was called The Katrina Round Up , we had to bunch two conventions into one this yr because of hurricane Katrina coming through here and tearing the place to pieces . It put alot of things on hold . But what it didnt slow down or stop was the solidarity of the people in the program down here . It was a great convention , I got to host my sponsor who gave a 10:am talk on Saturday. My gratitude is beyond measure for everything in my life , especially for the people that showed me by example how to live ........Love and Light ...Blane |

Hello every-one...my very first piece was a small cross with the sun behind it...I got it 1965 in a small town in British columbia Canada...a few friends where getting a few tat's done...I was stoned out of my mind at the time....and was tripping on all the colors of the flash on the wall....ok..ok..they where black and white flash cards...but i seen alot of colors...lol...anyway this cross was in the middle of the wall and it stood out so clear...that I asked for that....total cost...under $5.00...( I no longer have it..}..been covered up.....and I never had another tattoo put on me till 1998...and I am working on a body suit...90% covered...over 50% colored...sorry for being so long winded ...have a great day...Wayne |

Got any stories about your first piece?
Mine is my half wrap of ivy. Got it back in Dec. 2004 at Silver Fox in Carbondale PA. My artist took the design from a piece of ivy fabric I bought almost 8 years before. |
