topic: New computer tablet/ Webcomic

The final hurdle to me doing a webcomic is now attached to my computer...a pen-tablet.

The tablet I chose was cheap ($50) and the software I bought was cheap too ($50). The tablet is an Adesso CyberTablet 6400 and the software is Manga Studio Debut.

Attached is a piece I drew (traced) with the tablet and though it isn't my normal art/ink style, its still cool enough to work for a webcomic.

If you haven't seen www.fabricari.com go check it out. Steve Harrison was a roommate of mine way back in the day and is now one of the best cyberpunk comic artists out there.

I'm a glutton for art reference. I keep huge collections of pictures on everything from insects to motocross riding. One of the best places on the web to get reference photos for art are at...
http://www.human-anatomy-for-artist.com/
and
http://www.female-anatomy-for-artist.com/

There
are great reference pieces at...
http://www.fineart.sk/

I
use http://images.google.com for alot of my reference art and have been using http://www.textamerica.com and http://www.flickr.com alot lately.

It's helpful to have a healthy sketchbook collection. In our town artists and aspiring artists congregate once a month at a local coffe shop/hangout and sketch.

Sketching is loose and fun and the pressure of final art is gone.

Does anyone else have a drawing/sketching group outside of school?
