Hiya,

Just wondering if anybody out there knows where I can get my kids names translated so I can get them tattooed on me?

It's funny everytime my wife or I come home from the tattoo shop all three of our kids come running to see it.
That's s great feeling knowing that your kids get excited just as much as you do about new art!!
Oh nice to meet you all in this group!

Hello All,

I'm looking for people with some clever, witty tattoos and have a good sense of humor. I'm not a mom or a dad, but I thought it would be cool to b e able to say to your family that your tattoo is in a book. So, I hope you don't mind me posting on this group.

I'm looking for funny-ha-ha and funny strange tattoos to be featured in "Inked: A Collection of Clever, Witty & Amazing Tattoos" The book will be out in stores this fall.

Artists/Photographers/Models will be credited and will receive a free copy of the book.

Deadline for images are by April 20.

If you want more info, have any questions or concerns, etc. please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!

Nice to meet all of you. I'm a single mom of two fantastic boys - as different from each other as possible. I have a laidback, long-haired, pierced, tattoo-wanting 14 yr old (whose female friends are driving me up a freaking wall!) and a very conservative, short-haired, Asperger's, brilliant 4 year old.
I've had issues with the teen girls calling my house at completely inappropriate times - but I put an end to that pretty quick (of course, then the girls whining to my son that his mom was *mean*. Too bad. Don't want me to be mean, don't call my house at 3AM).
Pretty much raise both boys on my own - my exh sees our son (the older) every other weekend usually, but my estranged (father of my 4 yr old) has abandoned all of his kids - including our son and has no contact at all.
Proud of both my boys - each extrordinary in their own special way.

I think that is is awesome that your kids already know what they want to do. I am in the process of getting my daughter back and I swear she is so sheletered. All she cares about is dolls. And I live in the Country. I am trying to teach her new aspects of life other than girly stuff.

Well I'm a divorced mom of 2 wonderful kids, my son whos gonna be 7 in June and my daughter who'll be 3 in June also. Becoming a parent was the best thing that I have ever done, would never trade it for anything.
I must say that I am so proud of my son. To start he was born at 9wks early and was only 4lb 7oz and 17". He was so strong even back then, hell not even 5 hours after being born he was holding his head high. Now he's in 1st grade loves to read and draw, so I'm always picking up the washable tatts for him :) As for my little girl she's wonderful, a little porceiln doll you could say or just call her Pebbles Flinstone (they could pass as twins except for the hair color) or Tinkerbell (hense the Tink on my thigh,I was told i had to get it)

Hey, I'm the proud daddy of a little boy who is almost 2 years old and we want to try to come up with a "play group" of tattooed or otherwise fun daddies, mommys and kids on the North or Northwest Side of chicago. Maybe hang out at Independence Park, Horner Park, something along those lines. message me if anyone is interested.

My son is 4 and I find it to be the best age ever! Granted there seems to be some more fits and the small things get very dramatic, even for a boy!! lol, But I like the fact we can sit and have conversatoins. When I get home everyday he always asks me how my day was and I do the same, it's so nice! Granted there are times I want to hole up in a closet and pull my hair out... but for the most part it's the best time ever!!

I'm a divorced Dad of 3 fantastic kids. I have been fighting for full custody for almost 2 years now. My daughter (the middle child) is the artist of the crew. So she tells me tonight that she wants to go to college and become an art teacher. I said well that would be awesome, but what about becoming a tattoo artist. Her eyes lit up. I said yes baby most tattoo artists are great artist on paper or canvas as well. She totally digs when I get her temp tattoo's. So I know Ihave saved one of them from their self righteous tattoo hating mother. Oh yeah my same daughter , she is 7 and wants to learn how to play bass. She likes the Funk like her Daddy. Send me a message if you want . I love meeting new people

I have a 19 year old amazing daughter. She has dealt with me and my anti depressant dependency and the bs that goes with it for 5 years.

In June she will travel to the jungles of Guatemala to help build some chicken coops.

I'm proud of the way she is growing up into a beautiful young lady (piercings and all)!

No tattoo yet...she watched me get my last one done and opted to wait for awhile.

I could go on and on but I'll keep this one short ;)

Reward the long hours spent at work with long hours spent playing with your children. For when you look back at life you will not remember the hours spent at the job but the events missed in your child's life.

We try to teach children how we learned for all we know about parenting we learned from our parent's and we know no other way and in so doing instill what we disliked in our parent's to our children as we over compensate.

A parent can justify a fear by giving it to their child.
A parent's job is to be afraid most of the time.
A child's job is to prove the fear unfounded with their actions.

I sometimes think we fail our children when we teach them not to be quitters and that it is alright to quit sometimes. I think if we had been taught that it is okay to quit then many of us would not have as many emotional scars as we do.
How many times have we been in a bad relationship and did not quit until we could take it no more instead of leaving the relationship earlier before we were hurt more.
How many times have we had people in our lives hurt us that we should have quit. How many times have we had addictions we should have quit. How many times as a kid were we berrated for being a quitter when we faced a task we could not do.

I time traveled last night as I held you in my arms and you snuggled in close. I held the future in tight against me. It was my future as well as hers and as I held you I dreamed what would one day turn from fantasy into reality. I held you this close the time we went to your first dance, I picked you up and held you when you fell of your bicycle for the first timem, I wanted to hold you on the first day of school when you cried. I reinacted our first fight in my dreams, I meet your first boyfriend, and then in my dream walked you down the hall with a different one, I held you this close when you and he had your first fight and then I held my first grand child. And then there was the day you came over and last held me for it was to be our last goodbye. I saw your tears at my funeral and wanted to hold you then. I wanted to wipe those tears away but they were so much like the ones I shed when you were born. Then we were in the after life and I was in bliss to have my daughter and friend returned. We did all the things we could not do when alive.
Then I awoke to you still snuggled in my arms

I have a 16 month year old daughter and she is my world. There isn't a thing in this world I will not stop doing in order to spend time with her. When we have free time it is no TV no distractions just us playing. She always has a smile for me and that makes me smile. When I am away from her I think I am like all parents concerned about her development and growth but the minute I see her all that melts away and it is just me and her playing.

Boys take a little longer to get the "change". My son is 14, and has recently lost his mind. But we live in white bread suburbia and his freidns are generally afraid of me, so when the girls call at 1 am, they only ever do it once.

My daughter is amazing. I hope to be just like her when I grow up. She tells me how proud she is of me being a free spirit and that I blessed her with the gift of unconditional love. She has the sweetest spirit, the sharpest mind and is a blessing to all who come to know her. Thanks for the forum to brag. I will never be able to say enough.

it is kinda funny, because most of my ink is coverable when i choose. so alot of ppl dont realize I am inked until they see me dressed a certain way. Then they see me at my kids games (soccer, football, baseball) and practices and i get some looks. the really cool part is when they dont change the way they react to me after they see ink!! But who other than a parent is their kids biggest fan? No-one!! so I show up with ink a-blarin' and cheer my babies on in whatever sport they choose to participate in. The funniest thing was when I coached my girls soccer team.
