Heya. Drawing it on the person is always the best way to go as long as symemtry isn't an issue. In Polynesian / Oceanic tribal work, the key to design is knowing what each pattern means and that dictates how to use it. Even rows of triangles represented shark's teeth. Design=application of pattern = understand the patterns meaning. |

JUST DID A TRADIONAL HAWAIIAN CALF PIECE. TOOK AWHILE TO SET UP. TRANSFER WAS IMPOSIBLE. SHARPIE WAS THE WAY TO GO. THAN I CUT OUT A PLASTIC TEMPLATE AND LINED UP EACH DIAMOND ON MY SHARPIE LINES. IF SOMEONE HAS A BETTER IDEA PLEASE LET ME KNOW. BUT IT WORKED OUT GREAT, JUST TIME CONSUMING. HAPPY TRIBALS! |

Does anyone have any tricks on traditional tribal tattoo work. I'm not talking about ass antlers or tailbone treasures. I'm believe in island work and polynesian work. I am interested in alignment of triangles, squares, lines, etc. |

Started this piece about two weeks ago. Added the chest piece today. All freehand. About 7 hours total. What do ya think? |
