I have never used a lefty but recently I recived a machine made by Framey (Thanks Again!!) and the wing nut is on the lefty side and it took some getting used to! But I've learned to give it the "Reach Around! I would like to have a couple of lefties , only because I don't have any. Not because I think they would feel any differant! |

It is a really funny a#$ thing when people say: "Oh wow, and he's a lefter too!", when I draw something as if I'm doing something really amazing. It's retarded. I always counter with: "yea I know, its really difficult with these right handed pencils". |

I have a better time with the round shaders myself. I don't know if it has to do with the left right but I really find that I work better with round shaders. I have talked to a few machine builders that say there isn't that much difference but have never bought one to see. It would be interesting to do a poll of lefties and see how many own a lefty and prefer the righties. I understand the weight distribution is easier but for me I have always used right handed toosl so when I use lefty scirssors I can't cut fuckin paper.
I am glad this group was here. |

My very first machine was a lefty, and I love it. I currently use 2 righties primarily, and have never really noticed much of a difference. The weight distribution is a little different, but every machine is a little different. |

i have never used a left-handed machine. i stick with what i know, i haven't even built a left handed machine, i learned with a right handed machine, and never gave it much thought. |

In my own experience I don't think there is a left-right difference between rounds and mags. It's all in how you learn. I was brought up on mags and only used a round for super small and tight areas. As far as scarring is concerned that's more in the tuning of the shader and how many passes are made over the same area. Hope that helps. |

I think this might just be a good topic so here goes,. the man who taught me says theres no difference but it could just be that he is jus a righty , There are 5 lefties in the burg I reside and 1 uses magnums and I believe the rest uses 14 and 18 rounds for shading is there an advantage for the left to use a round. Is there a lesserchance for scarring with either and which of the 2 puts more needle surface to the flesh, Ive been thinking bout this for a while and hope you peeps can share some knowledge. |
