I've been tattooing for about 12 years now.. I love my job and moved from Kansas City to Lawrence to work at the best shop ever! I don't drink... only cause I'm allergic to the stuff... I do smoke 2 packs a day though! Somethings gotta kill ya , right? I cus like a sailor and play with fire for fun! | I know this is gonna piss off so many people,, but,,, here it goes... I Hate Traditional Tattoos... I think they're stupid and ugly and poorly drawn and boring to do and look at,,,,, Asian , American, whatever,,,, I'd rather not do them, I don't want them,, they are like doing trible with color ..,I don't ever want to see another crappy drawing of an animal with another crappy looking animals head stuck on it, or another poorly drawn girls head with bad hair and worse make up.. or anything with dots for eyes,,, or dots and shitty stars that's supposed to pass for background, or that shitty looking black spot with the blue lines coming out of it that I think is supposed to be a rock and water..(which is always a cover-up,,, very creative you guys!) .etc.. etc.. etc.. you get the picture... I do mostly custom,, I don't know,, I guess I just like to put a little more effort into my work than that... try a little harder,,Take it to the next level,, give someone a piece of art,, not just keep doing the same shit that's been done over and over ,, (Sailor Jerry) .. there is a reason things change,,, for every artist that fights to take things to the next level,,, there are 20 that keep knocking tattooing back another notch... I think it's sad... Traditional tattoos are to the industry what rap is to real music... though some people like it... it still sucks. That's Part of why I moved to work at the shop I'm at now is because No one there does Traditional! I don't have to lie when I tell people their work looks great! And,, I can actually learn from the artists around me! I can appreciate the clean lines and solid color of traditional.. ,, but that's about it... there's no flow, or creativity involved... oh,,, and Carlos Ransom tattoos on me,,, |
