| Let's see here...My very first tattoo was by Jason Nightengale from Tiki Tattoo in Westminster, MD. He is amazing. The tattoo is my spirital animal, the owl, with my Lakota name "Cante Tanka" in a banner clutched in the owl's talons.My second tattoo was done by Jason as well. It is two eagle feathers with the words "Mitakuye Oyasin" which in my language means All My Relations, and it's on my lower back.After my first two tattoos, all the rest have been done by Glen Capwell, Johnny Blades, and Stev-o from Trusted Ink.Each of my tattoos has extreme meaning but I'll spare ya the stories and just list what I have.On my left arm I have my tribe's flag, the word "poet", an arm band that has a red star, eagle feathers, and a hammer & sickle in it, and the words "Oglala Pride". On my right arm I have a beautiful piece on my shoulder of a skull with youth-like hair and flowers representing lost innocence, and a prayer wheel on my wrist.On my chest I have two sparrows for my Mom and Dad.I have the words "I'm Innocent" and "It's Not My Fault" on my hips.On my left leg I have a gorgeous Native pin-up girl with a coup stick in which she has counted two coup. And she has avenged me.On my right leg I have two owls perched on a branch, one with brown eyes (me) and one will blue eyes (my little sister). It's my favorite, but probably the smallest tattoo I have. And one day when my little sister is of age she will be getting the same one. |
