David James Daniel Wood is the original/former lead-singer of END OF LINE and LINEAGE, and the current vocalist for DISTANT BY DESIGN. DAVID JAMES first began drawing, painting, and sculpting, at the age of four, under the teachings of his grandfather, architect and freelance artist, George Wood (until his death in 1981). David’s passion and thirst for art continued throughout his childhood and on into his adult life. Pursuing every possible avenue, every formal studies available. After graduating high school, David attended SAGE Jr. College of Albany, majoring in Fine Arts and minoring in Philosophy. “i knew pretty early on, as early as high school, that i wanted to be a tattoo artist. but nobody would give me the opportunity. I refused to give up or get discouraged. I always had, and always will have the utmost respect for, and love of the artform. in its purest, unadulterated form.” David’s persistence finally paid off. After completing a 15 month apprenticeship, and with over 30 years of artistic experience, David James is now a fully licensed and Dept. of Health certified tattoo artist in Albany County, NY.
About My Ink:
Although well-versed in all styles of tattooing, David’s own style can best be described as Neo-traditional. favoring black and gray with a ‘splash’ of color, hyper-realism, and American traditional. "I don't really seem to adhere to one particular genre of tattooing, but rather prefer to meld different styles together. All while maintaining the true cultural accuracies and integrity of each style im blending singularly. I'm a geek at heart and do a LOT of research and reference for all of my custom work." Each tattoo has its own unique set of artistic challenges and technical requirements, which are carefully considered before a needle ever touches the skin. “I don’t cut corners on anything. you get what you pay for... my very best. however long that takes.”

lololol I was just checking out the pictures on Myspace. And you have a pic with some art suplies, a wine glass, and a bottle of Tellow Tail Shirazsyaing something like "where it starts" or something like that lol. I loooooove Yellow Tail. I actually was enjoying a few glasses last night at my girlfriends house after class lol.

....well hey!!! i am actually going part-time at the hospital next week, so i can tattoo full-time!!! and have time to paint.....i am working on a painting for an art show/gallery hop in columbus for the first of july.....i got invited to submit a piece, so said fuck it....i am going to paint again!!! :D i am still busy as hell at the shop......things are grand.....:D how are you??
