| Studio Name: |
| Seppuku Tattoo / Drowning Creek Art Gallery |
| Studio Location: |
2213A Rowland Avenue Savannah, Georgia, 31404 United States 912-351-0565 |
| About Our Studio: |
Started in 2005 by Johnny Thief & Matt Lukesh, Seppuku Tattoo is the first studio to open in Thunderbolt, right on the water in Savannah, GA. Drawn to the warm weather & island living, they adopted the name SEPPUKU from bushido discipline, seppuku being ritual suicide performed by samurai warriors in the face of failure or disgrace. It's death before dishonor every day at Seppuku,... look for missing pinky fingers in the near future! Also home of the Drowning Creek Rock Art Gallery, featuring silk screened concert posters from Coop, Arminski, Forbes, Rogers, Stainboy, Ewing, Wood, Johnny Thief & Dethrone,... stuff we all have featured in books like THE ART OF MODERN ROCK, FISTFUL OF ROCK, ROCKIN' DOWN THE HIGHWAY, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, & SCHWAG.
Seppuku has hosted a number of well received art shows, featuring Warped Tour artist Brian Ewing, Stainboy Reinel, Jeral Tidwell, Jason Goad, Jason Cooper, Jeff Wood, & author Paul Grushkin. Going into our fourth year, the shop has taken a number of awards, including Most Unusual at the Hell City Expo in 08. We have been featured in a number of publications, like the 12 page cover story in the November 06 issue of International Tattoo Arts, Tattoo Master #3, & Bizarre's BODY ART 2.
We have also done artwork for MTV2, Harley Davidson, & Guitar Hero 3.
Nazis & scratchers, please fall into a running tree chipper. Thank you.

Matt holds BA's in both English & Art, is a published author, accomplished fine arts painter, & is a decade long veteran on skin. All are damned yankees bringing big city work ethics to dixie,...Please keep in mind all artwork on this page is copyright © 2006 Seppuku Tattoo, & the respective artists. Stealing this art will result in the release of voodoo curses & spontaneous flesh eating bacterias' devouring your genitalia. |

The Seppuku Tattoo crew is featured in this month's issue of Tattoos For Men, #82, from the Skin Art publishing team. Johnny has a piece in the Pin Up Girl section, & Matt has several pieces in the Color Bomb & Mythology section.
For those of you who were at the April photo shoot with Skin & Ink, this is not that shoot at all. I have a date for the Skin & Ink that will feature Johnny's art on the cover, which will be on the December issue & on the stands before the end of the year. Our interview will follow a few issues later. We also have an interview featured in Tattoo Savage, but also do not have a date for that one either. We'll keep you updated. |

The MUNNY SHOW
Saturday, May 27th
Presented by B'Zar at the 53 Cannon Street Gallery, Charleston, SC
Dozens of low brow art luminaries, both local & national, will be showing off their own customized take on the MUNNY, a ten inch tall vinyl creation from toy vanguard Kid Robot, as part of the citywide Spoleto Festival events & celebrations. Artists will also be showcasing other art that each individual is best known for, whether paintings, lithographs, screen prints, photography, concert posters, grafitti, or tattoo flash, as well as their own twisted view they've imposed on said Munnys. Over 25 artists will be participating, including:
Arthijack, Leia Bell, B'Zar, Brandon, Julio Cotto, Seth Curcio, Eleazar Cruz, Destro, Dethrone, Domain Magazine, Elysium, ESAD, Dominque Grant, Deacon Von Haze, Tim Hussey, Ishmael, Keystone, Knit, Know, Magar Hatworks, Paige, Poe Studio, John Pundt, Sheepman, Jody Singleton, Spinster, Supervision, Fumina Tanaka, Kevin Taylor, Johnny Thief, Truckstop Ink, & John Wilson |

Workstations will be set up at the gallery, so that anyone who'd like to can create their own Munny. At 9 PM, the Munnys will go up on the auction block, & all proceeds will be donated to The School of the Arts in North Charleston.
Special performances by Pure Theatre, & music by DJ's James Belk, Sleepyhead, & Supervision
Seppuku Tattoo's One Year Anniversary Party is the night before, & the shop will be closed on Saturday so the staff can attend the show & show off their abused, violated Munnys,...

Friday, May 26th: Seppuku Tattoo's One Year Anniversary Party
Special Guest Jeff Wood.
Jeff Wood is a vanguard concert poster artist, having created visual eye candy in the form of screen printed poster art, album covers, & collectables for bands like 311, The Dead, The Allman Brothers, Audioslave, Phish, Dave Matthews, Green Day, Patti Smith, Hank Williams 3, Reverend Horton Heat, Widespread Panic, The Black Crows, PJ Harvey, Les Claypool, Flogging Molly, and countless others. His work for High Times magazine has included several magazine covers, plus posters for the prestigious Cannabis Cup held annually in Amsterdam, where Jeff presides as a celebrity judge.
After decades of service to clients that ranged from the WWF to Harley Davidson, Jeff opened his own print house, the Drowning Creek Studio, in Commerce, GA. Build in a refurbished slaughterhouse, Jeff's work became the pinnacle of fine art printing, his techniques were the first to mesh computers and screen printing together, his work and magazine articles on his progress inspiring an entire generation to enter into the field, and Jeff has published & curated work of artists such as Coop, Frank Kozik, Alan Forbes, Stanley Mouse, Mark Mothersburg, Rich Biffle, Mikio Kennedy, Jermaine Rogers, Darren Grealish, Jeral Tidwell, Dave Gink, Jason Goad, James Decker, Ralph Waters, Dave Crossland, Hoffa, Durb Morrison, Johnny Thief and Dethrone.

Jeff will be the special guest at the Drowning Creek Art Gallery, a low brow art collection of DCS work displayed for the first time in a brick and mortar storefront, located inside Seppuku Tattoo. Owners Johnny Thief and Matt Lukesh invited Jeff for their One Year Anniversary Party, celebrating their first year of raising the bar on canvas, paper and, of course, on skin, bringing a new level of excellence to these so called low brow arts for the first time to Savannah.
Jeff will be on hand to meet guests and sign posters, books and collectables, including a special limited edition screen print to commemorate the event. Live music will be provided by local DJs, and food and cocktails served all night.

Welcome to Black Oaks Savannah, sister event to Black Atlantis in Atlanta.
Black Oaks Savannah welcomes all friends of the night to share with us in our Noir Haven. They welcome vampyres, goths, witches, mystics, pagans, ghost trackers, otherkins and other like minded individuals.
Previously our event was held at the Elysium Wine Bar but due to the popularity of the event and the inability to secure the location from mundane guests, we have now moved our quarterly event to Down Under Invasion-Level 3. The event begins at 10PM and is open to those 21 years of age and over.
Seppuku Tattoo is one of the sponsors & we will be there with very hot women dressed to the 9's,... |
