| I've been involved with tattooing for over 28 years. My husband, Dave, and I owned a studio in the Chicago area for 8 years before getting away from the cold and snow and crime and craziness. Moved to Hawaii in '04 What a blast!! Every day is exciting and eventful working in tourist central Hawaii. We work with people from all over the world and our locals too. I love working with the military here on Oahu...God Bless Every One of You!! We've watched tattooing evolve from the backstreet days to the circus it can be today. Some changes are good....while some are not so good. Dave and I retired this year as Security Directors for National Tattoo Association. Been a member for 25 years and now a board member/adviser. I am a retired trainer for a national corporation and am a certified PPDT lecturer for the Alliance of Professional Tattooists Bloodbourne Path Seminar. Also sit on the board of APT and am newsletter editor, I also conduct seminars on Customer Service in our businesses and write a column on Safety and Professionalism in Body Art for www.aroundhawaii.com. |

| I do strictly cosmetic work. Eyeliner and Eyebrows. No lips, they suck to do!!! Body art is fine but not what I am passionate about personally doing. Do what you love, not for the money, but for the interest you have. We owe that to our clients. My personal tattoos....right thigh, lady dragon w/hibiscus done by my husband, Dave Sucher. Right arm upper surface, hibiscus (see a pattern here?) hummingbirds and butterflies done by Tony Edwards, Old Towne Tattoo, Tucson, underarm faeries done by Judy 'the Jackhammer' (not) Parker of San Diego, bees and butterflies by Dave. Left arm is Rosie the Riviter with 'Many thanks Mom and Dad' in memory of my folks who kicked butt in WWll. I love their generation...what fine people! My folks met while working in an aircraft factory in Indianapolis. Oh, yeah, Cap Szumski of Atlanta did my Rosie. I really care about the people who have tattooed me....it wasn't just random choice that I let them at my hide. |

I was wondering if you might like to let me know just what your thoughts are concerning a tattoo artists union. I know that you are an activist and a member of some of the more prestigious tattoo organizations around, so your input would be appreciated. My friend Jake has spent a lot of time on this idea and almost had it in place once but the union director moved on and the new guy is very busy and wants to see more. If you get a couple of these its because the site is not working properly...again.

Hey! Haven't been getting on here much lately. Mostly been working and vacationing (it seems weird to vacation without Matt, but if we had to wait for him we'd never take a vacation!). Anyway, just about a week or so left now! At least that is what they keep telling me. I will believe it when I see him here on good 'ole American soil. As for the baby kicking...yeah it can hurt. I swear...boys they are trying to kill their mothers from the very start!
Matt is saving up his leave so we can go to the convention here in NC. It will be great to see you guys again.
So what is new there? I read on Matt's wall that SPAM is taking over...don't give in! Talk to ya later.

We lost a dear friend to a brain aneurysm....Peace to you Tall Jay! One of the kindest, sweetest piercer/tattooers in the world. He is at peace now with his son, Exodus, who passed 4 years ago.

| Work is going well. Kicking cancer's butt. Your right is REALLY curable for my age group too. I think the only ones who really die at my age group are the ones who don't know they have it. As for working...got to keep insurance somehow. They have paid for all the chemo so far. I'm waiting for that financial shoe to thud down on me. We'll see. How is the island? It is just beginning to cool off around here. I'm ready for it. The humidity is killer around here. |

Hey Peggy and Dave! Sorry I haven't been on here very much. I finally got internet at home. Thanks for the bath salts, yeah I'm really late on that thank you. I had to have surgery on my tail bone to diagnosis thing. Do you know what my 22 year old baby resident surgeon said as soon as I was in recovery? "We saved the tattoo." They ended up making a 7.5 inch scare to save my 5 inch tattoo! I wanted to laugh at him. Mom was pissed. She does not trust baby docs.
I'm not sure if anyone ever let you know the diagnosis. I have Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This is very good. It is very curable. The cure sucks, chemo and possibly radiation, but at least I'm not going to die or anything.
Mom and Dad are over here in Hoptown about once a week. Mom's handling everything OK. She has her days and I have my days.
I''ve lost my hair...every where!! I knew I would loose hair but it never really hit me that I would be bald like a little girl again. A bit disturbing as that went first. Anyway, I'm bald on top now too. I'll send a picture.
Hope everything in Hawaii is going well. |

| unfortunately it doesn't look like he is going to get much home time. rumors are flying about another deployment in the near future from when they get back. i begged him not to leave me with a newborn and a toddler, but it didn't work! Anyway, here is a look at the silly antics Leilie is up to these days...I guess she needs her cup of joe in the morning! |

Hey lady! I'm going to try to make it down to the shop tomorrow night (friday). Half of my folks come in on Sunday (the other half come in next sunday) so I guess it all depends on how much cleaning I get done while the baby is in daycare. Otherwise, It'll probably be a few more weeks before I get down there. The good news is that I'm out of school for three weeks shortly after Labor Day so I will definately visit before the guys get back...after they get back I'm sure we'll be down there weekly!
